Per the suggestion of the Assembly Line Technologies team, Couples Resorts was the first of the competition to introduce a Message Board in 2003. The forum provided an industry unique platform for uniting past guest, as well as a medium for future guests to form meetup groups and was seminal in driving repeater rates in a time before social media existed. Equally important, the community provided a centralized voting constituency which has helped Couples become recognized and awarded by Conde Nast, Travel + Leisure, and other notable media outlets. Upon the advent of social media as we know it today, the community provided a springboard for Couples to rapidly accelerate the growth of it’s user base on third party social channels.
The Assembly Line Technologies team was uniquely responsible for the implementation and support of the Couples Message Board. Team members were responsible for training and aiding staff in moderation duties, intertwining the forum templating engine with the main website, building custom, redistributable vBulletin plugins to enhance the user experience as well as hosting and maintenance related duties.
