Update Outlook (on Windows) to Utilize Fusemail SSL

Many of our clients whom utilize our hosted email services will be affected by a series of updates rolled out by our contracted email service provider as of August 25 2021.

You may have trouble sending or receiving mail in outlook. If so, try the steps below to update your account settings. Note that upon making the changes, your inbox and its sub folders may take some time to sync back up with the server and display all of their original contents.

NOTE: these instructions are for outlook users on Windows, if you are using outlook on windows you will want to use these instructions instead.

Step 1: Open outlook and click the ‘File’ button in the top left corner.

 

 

Step 2: At the top of the account information pane, use the drop down to select which emailĀ  account you are having trouble with. You may only have one account.

 

Step 3: Click the account settings box, and navigate down to and click “Server Settings”

 

 

Step 4: adjust your ‘Incoming mail’ server settings to match the boxes highlighted in red in the screenshot below. That is to say:
-Server to: imap.fusemail.net
-Port to: 993
-Encryption method, select: SSL/TLS
-Check the box next to: Require logon using… SPA

 

Step 5: Now click the ‘Outgoing mail’ option and adjust your server settings to match the boxes highlighted in red in the screenshot below. That is to say:
-Server to: smtp.fusemail.net
-Port to: 465
-Encryption method, select: SSL/TLS
-Check the box next to: Require logon using… SPA
-Check the box next to: My outgoing server requires authentication
-Select the radio button for: Use same settings as my incoming mail server
-Click NEXT to complete the process
